Screenrooms Direct
Question:
What materials are used in your enclosures?
Answer: Screenrooms Direct
Enclosures are made of the finest quality materials available.
The frame is fabricated from maintenance-free, baked-on
enamel-coated aluminum. All the aluminum extrusions are
manufactured exclusively for us and incorporate a patented system
that locks the screening in. This prevents it form being pushed
out or becoming saggy over time. The covering can be made of
fibreglass mesh or polycarbonate plastic, which we import because
it's 80% stronger than local products. The other major component
is know-how. It requires proper procedure and knowledge to
assemble these materials into the finished product. This is where
we excel, having more experience in this field than anyone else
in Canada.
Question:
What are the benefits of owning a screen enclosure?
Answer: Our screen
enclosures are designed to do several things, which basically
allow you to better enjoy your outdoor living area. For pools,
this means you spend your time swimming instead of cleaning.
Also, an evening swim or a weekend barbeque becomes much more
enjoyable without the harassment of flies and mosquitoes. If you
enclose your deck, patio or gazebo, it becomes your outdoor
living room and allow you to open up your house and lifestyle.
Because the screen is transparent, it lets the sun in and won't
inhibit the views you enjoy. Yes, you can still suntan through
it, although if protection is what you want, we have a shade
cloth to limit the sun or act as a privacy wall. Should you
require a solid roof, we use a long life tinted polycarbonate
plastic. It looks much nicer than corrugated products and lets
enough light in so as not to darken adjoining rooms. Combinations
of these materials can be used to achieve the desired results.
Question:
Do you manufacture standard models?
Answer: No, each
enclosure is designed to suit your circumstances, keeping in mind
function and aesthetics. We design each enclosure exclusively to
compliment your home and landscaping so that it will be a
beautiful addition. Our larger beams allow us to freespan up to 7
meters so most areas can be accomodated.
Question:
Can you build your enclosures with glass instead of screen?
Answer: Yes, we are
occasionally requested to build glass or fully enclosed areas.
While this might be very desirable, consideration must be given
to design, ventilation and cost. Frequently a combination of
fibreglass mesh and polycarbonate serves to protect an area from
wind, yet allowing full ventilation. Glass houses and sunrooms
will be pleasant both summer and winter if glass windows and
sliding glass door are used for ventilation.
Question:
How much do they cost?
Answer: Every job is
custom built. Measurements, design and dialogue are essential.
Options will vary to suit individual needs. We will give you an
accurate and firm price to the penny. However, in any case, you
will find the price pleasant and affordable. Screen room prices
are surprisingly low when compared to glassed-in enclosures. You
will not face high heat loss and costs experienced with
solariums, sunrooms or three season rooms. Nor will you
experience the high temperature these rooms produce. There is no
cleaning of glass, no breakage, no plastic surface scouring or
color fade of material. Last but not least is the fact that there
is no property tax adjustment with a screen room.
